About German Chamomile
German Chamomile is one of the most beloved medicinal flowers in the world. This delicate, daisy-like annual produces abundant small white flowers with golden centers, releasing a sweet, apple-like fragrance when brushed or harvested.
Unlike Roman Chamomile, German Chamomile grows taller, produces more flowers, and is especially prized for high-yield harvests. It self-seeds easily, often returning year after year once established.
This is a gentle yet powerful plant — perfect for beginners, homesteads, tea gardens, and medicinal landscapes.
Traditional & Herbal Uses
German Chamomile has been traditionally used as:
• A calming tea herb
• A gentle nervine
• A traditional sleep-supporting plant
• A digestive soother
• A comforting household herb
• A children’s tea herb
• A gentle daily-use flower
• A soothing botanical
The flowers are the primary medicinal part.
