Chaparral Leaf

Chaparral Leaf is a high-caution desert plant with a history in Southwestern folk and external skin-wash traditions. Customers commonly research it in connection with external use, skin, microbial-balance traditions, bitter traditions, antioxidants, joint traditions, cleansing traditions, and historical desert-plant practices. This product should be clearly identified as external use only and should not be taken internally.

Scientific Evidence / Research Status

Chaparral contains nordihydroguaiaretic acid, commonly called NDGA, and other compounds studied in laboratory research. Human evidence does not establish chaparral as an effective treatment for infection, cancer, arthritis, skin disease, or any other condition. Internal use has been associated with serious liver injury, and authoritative reviews list chaparral among potentially harmful herbal products. External use may also irritate sensitive or damaged skin. NIH chaparral safety review

Jar-Label Warning Highlights

External use only. Do not take internally. Avoid during pregnancy or nursing and do not use with children. Avoid with liver disease, kidney disease, alcohol use, liver-stressing medications, or prolonged use. Do not apply to broken or severely irritated skin. Chaparral has been linked to serious liver and kidney concerns.

Historical Uses / Traditional Context

Historically, Chaparral was used in Southwestern and desert-region traditions, including external washes and other household practices. Historical use does not establish safety or effectiveness, and internal use is now treated as particularly hazardous.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING

The herb jar labels in this store are personal inventory labels used by the owner of Yahuah’s Farm for internal organization, pricing, and owner reference. They are not customer instructions, medical advice, dosage instructions, health advice, or personal recommendations.

Please disregard the health-support wording on the jar labels. Do not choose, purchase, prepare, or use any herb based only on words written on the jar, including words such as support, inflammation, digestion, immune, heart, circulation, pain, skin, blood flow, liver, hormones, or similar wording.

Those words are not promises, guarantees, proof, or claims that the herb will help that condition. Just because a jar label lists a body system or support word does not mean that herb will help you personally.
