Feverfew
Feverfew is a traditional bitter herb with a long history in European head-comfort, women’s-cycle, nervous-system, circulatory, and household herbal traditions. It is commonly researched by customers interested in head comfort, migraine traditions, healthy inflammatory response, the nervous system, women’s-cycle traditions, circulation, and bitter-tonic use. Feverfew is a high-caution herb and should not be used casually during pregnancy.
Scientific Evidence / Research Status
Feverfew contains parthenolide and other plant compounds studied primarily in connection with migraine prevention. Human studies have produced mixed and inconsistent results, and different Feverfew preparations may contain very different amounts of active compounds. Feverfew should not be presented as proven to stop an active migraine, cure chronic headaches, treat menstrual disorders, treat circulatory disease, reduce inflammation, or treat any medical condition. NCCIH reports that migraine findings are mixed and evidence for other conditions is minimal.
Traditional Uses Listed on Jar Label

Jar-Label Warning Highlights
High-caution herb. Do not use during pregnancy because Feverfew may affect uterine contractions. Avoid while nursing or giving to children unless professionally guided. Use with care with Aster-family allergies, blood thinners, aspirin, NSAIDs, bleeding disorders, liver concerns, medication use, or planned surgery. Feverfew may irritate the mouth or stomach and should generally be stopped at least two weeks before scheduled surgery.
Historical Uses / Traditional Context
Historically, Feverfew was used in European household herbalism for fevers, head discomfort, women’s-cycle traditions, and bitter digestive preparations. Its name and historical reputation do not establish that it treats fever or migraine disease.

Please disregard the health-support wording on the jar labels. Do not choose, purchase, prepare, or use any herb based only on words written on the jar, including words such as support, inflammation, digestion, immune, heart, circulation, pain, skin, blood flow, liver, hormones, or similar wording.
Those words are not promises, guarantees, proof, or claims that the herb will help that condition. Just because a jar label lists a body system or support word does not mean that herb will help you personally.

Use extra caution with children, elderly persons, pregnant or nursing women, and anyone with a medical condition. Do not use herbs as a replacement for needed medical care, testing, diagnosis, or treatment.
You are responsible to research every herb thoroughly before buying or using it. Speak with a qualified healthcare professional before using herbs, especially if you take medication, have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or are preparing for surgery.
