About Common Mullein
Common Mullein is a striking biennial herb known for its tall golden flower stalk, soft velvety leaves, and powerful history in traditional herbal medicine. Native to Europe and Asia and now naturalized across North America, it thrives in disturbed soils, fields, roadsides, and sunny garden edges.
In its first year, mullein forms a large, fuzzy rosette of leaves. In its second year, it sends up a dramatic flowering spike that can reach 6–8 feet tall, making it a stunning architectural plant in any garden.
This is one of the most important respiratory-supporting plants in traditional herbalism and a true homestead staple.

Mullein has been traditionally used as:
• A classic lung-supporting herb
• A traditional respiratory ally
