Wormwood • Black Walnut Hull • Clove Tincture
Traditional Botanical Support • Digestive Wellness • Antioxidant Support • Microbial Balance
Three of the most historically recognized botanicals used in traditional herbal preparations have been brought together in one concentrated tincture. This formula combines:
Wormwood — Artemisia absinthium
Black Walnut Hull — Juglans nigra
Clove — Syzygium aromaticum
These plants have long histories in traditional herbalism, particularly in formulas intended to support digestion, intestinal wellness and the body's natural cleansing processes.
Modern laboratory research has also identified numerous biologically active compounds within these plants — including thujone and bitter compounds in wormwood, juglone and polyphenols in black walnut, and eugenol in clove.
This is a concentrated 2:1 tincture, meaning it is considerably stronger than many conventional herbal tinctures.
THE THREE-HERB FORMULA
🌿 WORMWOOD
Wormwood has been valued in traditional European and Western herbalism for centuries. Its intensely bitter compounds are one of the reasons herbalists have historically associated wormwood with digestive support.
Potential & Traditional Benefits
- Supports normal digestive function
- Traditionally used for occasional digestive discomfort
- Traditionally used to support appetite
- Supports normal gastric and digestive secretions
- Traditionally associated with intestinal cleansing preparations
- Contains naturally occurring bitter compounds
- Contains numerous phytochemicals studied for biological activity
- Laboratory research has investigated antimicrobial properties of Artemisia species
- Historically incorporated into traditional preparations addressing unwanted intestinal organisms
European herbal authorities recognize wormwood's traditional use for temporary appetite loss and mild gastrointestinal complaints.
Wormwood's historical reputation as a cleansing herb is much broader than what modern human clinical trials have established, so traditional use and proven treatment claims are kept clearly distinct on this page.
⚫ BLACK WALNUT HULL
Black walnut hull has an extensive history in North American herbalism. The green outer hull contains several naturally occurring phytochemicals, including the naphthoquinone compound juglone, along with tannins and polyphenols.
Potential & Traditional Benefits
- Rich source of plant polyphenols
- Provides antioxidant compounds
- Traditionally used in cleansing herbal formulas
- Traditionally associated with digestive and intestinal wellness
- Historically used in herbal preparations for unwanted intestinal organisms
- Laboratory research demonstrates antibacterial activity from compounds associated with black walnut
- Laboratory studies have demonstrated antifungal activity associated with juglone and walnut extracts
- Supports the body's natural antioxidant defenses
- Contains tannins traditionally valued for their astringent properties
- Juglone has received considerable scientific attention because of its biological activity
Research on black walnut hull and juglone is promising but is predominantly laboratory, cellular, or animal research rather than proof that black walnut hull treats infections or parasitic disease in humans. Laboratory findings are not presented as medical-treatment claims.
🌺 CLOVE
Clove is far more than a culinary spice. Clove buds are exceptionally rich in aromatic phytochemicals, especially eugenol, one of the most extensively researched components of clove.
Potential & Traditional Benefits
- Powerful source of antioxidant compounds
- Supports normal antioxidant defenses
- Traditionally used to support digestion
- Traditionally used for occasional stomach and intestinal discomfort
- Historically used in cleansing herbal formulas
- Traditionally associated with oral and digestive wellness
- Eugenol has demonstrated antibacterial activity in laboratory research
- Eugenol has demonstrated antifungal activity in laboratory research
- Clove extracts have demonstrated antimicrobial activity in numerous laboratory investigations
- Laboratory research has investigated activity against various microorganisms
- Eugenol has demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity in experimental research
- Contains naturally occurring aromatic compounds with significant biological activity
Clove and eugenol have demonstrated significant antimicrobial activity against numerous bacteria and fungi in laboratory studies. This tincture is not claimed to cure bacterial, fungal, viral, or parasitic disease.
WHY THESE THREE HERBS HAVE HISTORICALLY BEEN COMBINED
Wormwood, black walnut hull and clove became one of the best-known combinations in modern Western herbal cleansing traditions. Traditional herbalists have commonly combined them because each plant contains a very different group of phytochemicals:
Wormwood — Bitter compounds + aromatic constituents
Black Walnut Hull — Juglone + tannins + polyphenols
Clove — Eugenol + other phenolic compounds
Because of these differences, traditional herbalists believed the plants complemented one another when used in cleansing and digestive formulas. The combination has become especially well known in what are traditionally called: Herbal cleansing formulas, Intestinal cleansing formulas, and Traditional parasite-cleansing protocols.
These three botanicals have a long history of use in traditional herbal cleansing preparations, including preparations historically used for intestinal and parasite cleansing. This tincture has not been clinically proven to eliminate parasites in humans.
TRADITIONAL PARASITE-CLEANSING HISTORY
Customers purchasing wormwood, black walnut hull and clove are often specifically familiar with this combination because of its traditional use in parasite-cleansing protocols.
Wormwood, black walnut hull and clove have been used together for generations in Western herbal cleansing traditions and have become one of the best-known botanical combinations used in traditional parasite-cleansing protocols. Certain compounds contained within these plants have also demonstrated activity against microorganisms or parasites in laboratory research. However, traditional use and laboratory findings do not establish that this finished tincture prevents, diagnoses, treats or cures a parasitic infection in humans.
POTENTIAL SUPPORT FROM THE COMPLETE FORMULA
This three-herb tincture may provide botanical support for:
Digestive Support
Bitter and aromatic botanical compounds traditionally associated with normal digestion.
Intestinal Wellness
A combination with a long history of use in traditional intestinal-cleansing preparations.
Antioxidant Support
Black walnut and clove contain numerous phenolic compounds with experimentally demonstrated antioxidant activity.
Microbial Balance
Compounds found in black walnut and clove have demonstrated antibacterial and antifungal activity in laboratory research.
Natural Cleansing Support
All three herbs have histories of incorporation into traditional cleansing preparations.
Appetite & Digestive Secretions
Wormwood has recognized traditional European use for temporary appetite loss and mild gastrointestinal complaints.
CONCENTRATED 2:1 EXTRACTION
This is not a weak conventional tincture. The finished tincture is prepared at approximately:
2 parts botanical material : 1 part extraction liquid
Because of this concentration, only a small amount is needed compared with many traditional 1:5 tinctures.
SUGGESTED USE
Adults
Starting Amount: 5 drops once daily.
If well tolerated: 5–10 drops, once or twice daily.
May be diluted in a small amount of water.
Because this is a concentrated 2:1 tincture containing wormwood, it is intended for short-term use rather than continuous long-term use. Do not exceed 14 consecutive days without guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.
